"My deepest thanks once again to you for an incredible weekend of Jewish music, story and spirituality. Your enthusiasm, artistic capability, sense of humour, and passion were infectious throughout your Shabbat with us as our Artists-in-Residence".
--Rabbi Dan Ornstein, Albany NY
Your next scholar-in-residence could be... an artist!
The arts can bring an element of pure joy into synagogue life. They have the power to educate and enlighten us.
Mark and Renée draw their material from Jewish folktales, Midrash, and literature, Hasidic sources and contemporary composers. They use the power of their artistry as storytellers and musicians to bring people closer to their community and their faith.
Their unforgettable Artist-in Residence weekends include:
- Participation in Shabbat Services
- Workshops in storytelling, song, prayer, and Israeli dance
- Performance for adults: This Ain't Your Bubbe's Yiddish Theater and Klezmer Tales
- Religious school/community performances of Stories and Songs From The Jewish Tradition
- Teacher training
- Family Education
